It's on the market!

The house is finally on the market? Wanna see where I live?

I was feeling so relieved that everything was done, and was looking forward to relaxing a little.

You all know what's coming next right?

The realtor had mentioned that the deck had some rotted boards on it that the inspector might call us on, so I decided to check them out just to make sure. One of the boards wasn't looking too good, so I stomped on it.

My foot went through the board.

So I started ripping a few of the boards off that looked bad, figuring that I would just replace those. One of the supporting beams was looking a little rough, so I poked it with a screwdriver and it sunk all the $#@%&!!! way in.

I had a meltdown where I called my father and cried, ranted and raved, called The Plumber and cried some more, then pulled myself together and put together a plan. Building a deck is not something I planned on doing, but my goal is getting this house sold and getting to Fairbanks, so if that's what I've gotta do, then hand me the frickin' crowbar and let's get this over with.
Today my father and I ripped the entire deck off, went to the store and bought all the supplies, and tomorrow we are going to rebuild it from scratch.

THEN, I'm going to relax, dang it.

Is there anything you can't do? You knit, you rescue tools from toilet drains, you re-build a deck? You are amazing!

This will all be over soon.

omg, what a nightmare!! and to think if you weren't selling the house you would have just gone about your business as usual on that deck without even knowing it could cave in on you at any moment!! good luck with the deck, it sounds like between your father and you, you guys know what you are doing...it should go smoothly.

OMG! There is nothing worse than finding something like that! At least the weather is nice for it? *sheepish grin* I hope it is not too big of a deck and that it does go quickly. :)

    Rachel... Relax?
I'll believe it when I see it!

Hey - I gotta tell you, I LOVE your blog, Rachel.
I'm not the LEAST bit interested in HALF of your crafts (knitting especially) but you sure can weave a rockin' story. You're so good with words. So, I KNOW I'll manage to keep up with your life - at least a little bit - even after your move.
