I know I haven't been posting for a while, but that's because I've been writing my fabulous new knitting book!
No, not really.
I've just always wanted to say that. I suppose if I ever hope to write a knitting book, I should actually design something. But that would involve using the creative parts of my brain, something that I just don't have the energy for.
Me Designing"I think I'll make a sweater! And it will be red! And have bell sleeves! And.."
Crap! The baby got into the Crisco.
" Where was I? Oh, yes! Sweater! I think I said blue! So why all the red yarn? Hmmmm..... so anyway, those bell sleeves...."
No! No! Don't draw on the cabinets! Let's clean it up.
"I was going to design a sweater, but while I was cleaning the cabinets the baby turned all of my skeins into knots except for one. So maybe a hat. Or maybe I'll just take a nap..."
THE ENDI don't think designing is in my near future.
What I have been doing is this.

The Kauni Cardigan is coming along quite nicely, although I am starting to see little squares in my sleep. My only concern about this project is the ribbing border at the bottom.
I cast on 10 stitches too many, which I didn't discover until after completing the ribbing. So instead of increasing 11 stitches before starting the body, I increased 1. The ribbing was done on size 1, and I am using a size 3 needle for the body, so I was hoping that would compensate enough that it wouldn't cause a problem. The ribbing keeps flipping, though, but I'm hoping that it will block into submission. Am I suffering from knitting delusions, or is this actually going to work? And if you say it's not going to work, would I actually go back and rip, or would I keep knitting and pretending everything's fine?

Aside from my little ribbing problems, this sure is a fun knit. I love watching the rows of squares change color!
